Indian Education Policy changes after 34 years, HRD renamed

The unprecedented decision was taken at a cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday. In the meeting, changes were made in the Indian Education Policy (NEP: National Education Policy) for 34 years. Also, the name of HRD (Ministry of Human Resource Development) was changed to Ministry of Education.

The government has set a target of 50 percent enrollment in higher education. In the Indian Education Policy system National education policy (NEP) was created in the country in 1986. Committees were also formed in 1990 and 1993 to review it. The pattern of curriculum has been applied along the lines of 5 + 3 + 3 + 4 for school children rather than a structure of 10 + 2.

Revival of Indian Education Policy

Under Indian Education Policy (NEP: National Education Policy), a child of 3-6 years will study in the same way so that his foundation literacy can be increased. After this, the introduction of the subject will be done in middle school ie 6-8 class. Fashion studies along with physics will also be allowed. Coding will be taught to children from class 6 onwards.

National Mission will be started for the children of 6-9 years of age in school education, usually in classes 1-3 so that children can understand basic education. Under the new education policy, children who want to go into the field of research will also have a 4-year degree program.

MPhil’s obligation ends to go into research

At the same time, there will be a 3-year degree program for those who want to get into the job. Students wishing to go into research will not be compelled to do MPhil. He will be able to pursue a four-year degree program after a one-year MA.

NTA Additional charge for conducting Common Entrance Examination for Higher Education

According to the new National Education Policy (NEP), the National Testing Agency (NTA) will now be given an additional charge for conducting entrance exams for admission to universities across the country. He can conduct the Common Entrance Examination for Higher Education. NTA already conducts entrance exam for admission in Central Universities like All India Engineering Entrance Exam JEE Main, Medical Entrance Examination – NEET, UGC NET, University of Delhi (DU), Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).
