Remaining Class 12th exams likely to hold by CBSE Board in first half of July

New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is likely to hold the remaining Class 12 papers in the first two weeks of July, The EdTalk had learnt. HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal is expected to announce the revised examination schedule this week.

The government, sources said, has decided that the Class 12th Board exams should finish before JEE Main is conducted. The entrance test for admission to NITs will be held over five days between July 18 and 23. CBSE has been asked to wrap up its remaining papers before that.

The results for the Class 12 exams will most likely be announced by August-end, before the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) declare the merit list for JEE Advanced.

The CBSE will conduct examinations of 29 major papers instead of the 41 pending papers of Classes 10 and 12. This includes six class 10 exams for North-East Delhi and 12 subjects for students of class 12 to be held across the country and 11 for North-East Delhi intermediate students only.

Over 31 lakh students had applied to appear for the CBSE exams that were hampered first due to violence in North East Delhi and later coronavirus pandemic.
