UGC NET 2020: Admit card released, check exam schedule here

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued the admit card for the UGC NET 2020 Exam. Students who are going to appear in the examination can see it by going to the official website nta.ac.in.

UGC NET 2020 Admit Card: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued the admit card for the UGC NET 2020 Exam. Students who are going to appear in the examination can see it by going to the official website nta.ac.in.

Examination of question papers like English, Commerce, Hindi will be conducted in two shifts. Earlier, when the NTA had decided to conduct the exam, it was scheduled to complete it within 8 days.

The NTA had earlier scheduled the exam from 16 September, however due to the entrance examination of ICAR, this exam had to be postponed. These exams will be held from September 16 to 25 across the country.

University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test i.e. UGC NET 2020 is a computer based examination or say online test. This exam takes place twice a year.

Step 1- Go to the official website ntanet.nic.in.

Step 2- Click on the link on the homepage where UGC NET Admit Card 2020 is written.

Step 3- You will be sent to a new page.

Step 4- Login using the registration number.

Step 5: The admit card will appear.

Step 6 – Download and print out for further reference.

Let’s know about exam pattern, marking scheme and syllabus of UGC NET 2020 Exam

NET exam is a national level examination, which is conducted by NTA on behalf of University Grants Commission (UGC). This qualifying exam is for lectureship in universities. It is also mandatory for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF).

Total number of papers: 2

Total number of questions: A total of 150 questions will be asked in the exam.
50 questions will be asked in the first paper and 100 questions in the second paper.
It is mandatory to answer all the questions.
The first paper contains questions related to general aptitude.
Paper 2 consists of questions from the subject selected by the candidates.

Paper language: UGC NET papers are in only two Hindi and English languages. Language selection is necessary while filling the form.

Negative marking: There is no negative marking in UGC NET.

Number of questions in NET Exam

There are 50 questions in the first paper and 100 questions in the second paper.
There is no such limit as to which section to answer first.
It is mandatory to answer all the questions.

For selection to the post of UGC NET, Assistant Professor and to determine eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship, NET Examination is conducted twice in June and December for more than 80 subjects. This year the exam could not be held in June due to the COVID-19 lockdown.

Explain that earlier this examination was conducted by the Central Grants Commission (UGC), Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The Ministry of Human Resource Development has given the task of conducting the examination to the National Testing Agency (NTA) after December 2018. Till then, CBSE used to conduct examination for 81 subjects in 263 selected cities.
