Board exams will continue in NEP, students may appear twice

The EdTalk | New Delhi

The National Education Policy (NEP) has been approved by the Cabinet of Modi government. The government says that after 36 years there was a need to change the education system of the country, so these changes were made. Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank said on Saturday that the biggest benefit of the 5 + 3 + 3 + 4 of the new education policy is that children from 3 to 18 years will now come under the purview of Right to Education. At the same time, the 10th and 12th board examinations will be continued. Its pressure on children is low, so now children will be able to give board exam twice.

NEP will drastically change Indian Education System in next 10 years

The education minister said that spending on education will be increased to 20 percent in the next 10 years. Given the funding and complexity of various sectors, a fund stream is essential for higher education. In this, the government will develop a guaranteed credit system for institutions in the center and states through the Higher Education Financing Agency.

Pokhriyal said that now the student will be able to read many subjects simultaneously. In the new system, the student can study every aspect, although it may take some time to implement. He said that to implement this the central and state governments would have to increase public investment in education. The Finance Commission has shared more than one lakh 13 thousand crores for the year 2020.
